Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, she has her soul inside her. She had the Sacred Jewel inside her. When she was in the Soul Eater Fountain, a demon felt her and caught her in order to bring her to the Feudal Era. Then she met Inuyasha and she destroyed that spell that has been put on him 50 years ago by Kikyo.
